Freed from its iconic pink box of five, the Rare Pink Signature presents itself with light leather and a delicate honey sweetness on the cold draw. In this first example, there was a small wrapper defect at the foot of the cigar, but it burned through fairly quickly without much issue.
Right from the start, it delivers a very full smoke output that remains consistent all the way to the end. The opening is a wonderful combination of light creamy sweetness, an intense walnut aroma, and soft cedar woodery finely balanced and a fantastic beginning.
In the second third, intense leather and coffee notes take over. The flavors are beautifully developed without overpowering one another. Toward the end, a pronounced nuttiness returns, blending with soft and creamy leather.
A truly fantastic cigar! Aside from the small wrapper flaw, the construction is good, and the burn, draw resistance, and especially the smoke output are excellent. I took my time and thoroughly enjoyed the ~85 minutes with this cigar. I’m very happy to have bought the box of five and can wholeheartedly recommend this double figurado from Arturo Fuente!
